Raising Creative Kids

Kids love doing a variety of arts and crafts as an outlet to be creative and have some fun! Little do they know that it is so good for their development as well.

By doing some arts, kids can expose themselves and shows their creativeness to create something beautiful. You know, any works that done by kids are all beautiful, they are precious.

Around age four, children may be able to draw a square and begin cutting straight lines with scissors. In Al-A’qil Preschool programs emphasize the use of scissors because it develops the dexterity children will need for writing.

Art education teaches students how to interpret, criticize and use the visual information and how to make choices based on it. As a teacher in Al-A’qil Preschool, we must have knowledge about the visual arts, such as graphic symbolism, is especially important in helping kids become smart and come out with their own ideas. We, teacher, only give them instructions and give some demo and let them express themselves and make their own products.

Amy Yang, founder of Brooklyn Design Lab, an art school for children says “Little kids are masters of the moment — they love the way it feels when they smear paint on paper, how it looks when they sprinkle glitter, and even the soft sound a brush makes as it crosses the page.”
